I was very honored that timethief asked to review her blog thistimethisspace.com.

Why? Timethief is the author of the absolutely wonderful blog onecoolsite.wordpress.com which is a true goldmine for all information about SEO and blogging. She used to go very deeply into the topics and as a bonus timethief has also a great insight into the legal issues thanks to her professional experience.

Timethief’s second blog is in her own words about ‘personal development, growth and relationships.

And my SWOT of it is below:

S:

- great name for the blog. It’s full of reflection, poetry and at the same time concrete: your blog is about current issues

- great categorizing

- loyal group of fans, concluding from the comments placed under every post

- I love your setup made for placing comments at the site – there is really time and space for everyone to give his/her oppinion and the comments grow into whole discussions. Additionally commentluv plugin is so visitor-friendly!

- your posts are well researched, extremely well done. The amount of posts made by guest bloggers makes me jealous!

W:

- I would say that my biggest concern about your blog is the fact that according to the title, it is supposed to be a blog on ‘personal development, growth and relationships’. And here I would argue that it is much more than that. Taking a look into the list of categories, I find there positions such as: Politics, Climate Changes, or even my favourite: WomenIssues. I believe that they are too general, too much connected to the world news.

- also, I cannot find any explanation as to the ‘growth’ – factor including in the title of your blog – think it is very much same as ‘personal development’ and it makes the whole idea/purpose of your blog too complicated to remember.

- I do not particularily like your colours at the site: as I mentioned before, I perceive blue as a color of banking – it is cold, it is cool and it is formal. To me, it clashes with the personal atmosphere of your blog. Additionaly, I do not like the violet borders either. The design of the blog as it looks right now looks a bit sad (dark, cold colors) and boring.

- lack of brand-feeling = lack of logo

O:

- I think you might brand yourself better by implementing a well done, eye-catching logo. It may be in form of a photo illustrating ‘This Time, This Space’.  You may win a lot by doing this as your blog would be much better recognizable.

- I know that you’re using twitter - and know also your sceptical view about it. I personally have twitter accounts for both of my blogs ( and the 3rd one for myself  LOL!) and strongly believe that it works in terms of differentiating yourself in the twitter space, assuming that twitter is a great traffic generator (and it is – see this post!) . I believe that the clear differentiating and branding of your blog (e.g. also on twitter) would bring you even more loyal readers.

- I think also you may change your wordpress.com blog into a .com domain. It would make you much more ‘professional’ or rather underline the professionalism you represent.

- you may try to use a video clips from time to time – it would live up your site essentially.

T:

- you may take a look into other blogs connected to similar topics.  From what I see there are a lot of well known (from TV, books, etc) therapists and personal development coaches, so the competition is strong here, no doubt about it. In case you do not have any plans to publish a personal-development book yourself, you may place yourself as a forwarder of the news in this category (this is an O actually). You may also try if it would be possible to start a cooperation with any of the well-known names you feel close to in terms of ideas and the values in life – it’s also a suggestion which turns a T into an O.

Overall, I think you have a great blog, very much worth reading, recommended to absolutely all men/women/old and young who are interested in personal development. Great work, TT!
